You are signing a consent for a treatment approach that has shown to be effective for treating people with a variety of musculoskeletal problems. You can choose to be interviewed via video calling (zoom, whatsapp, facetime, skype etc). or via the phone or via email.
You will be asked to fill out an assessment form initially which provides good detail for the osteopath.
Recommendations for a treatment approach will be agreed after the assessment. These are based on the conversation and therefore the conversation must be as full as possible and there is a necessity that you answer questions as fully as possible. If you feel you need to say something that has not been asked, it is important you do so.
It is also important that if after the consultation you experience new symptoms you inform the osteopath or speak to your doctor.
If you are consulting via video, you may be asked to expose the area of the body where you are experiencing the pain and perhaps a family member may need to hold the phone over the area if you cannot manage it yourself so that the osteopath can observe the area. If you are unhappy with this or are unable to do so we may be able to find a way around it.
